Soon after beginning your journey in Palworld, you will encounter eggs scattered across the world. These eggs vary in size and elemental type, and each one holds a Pal waiting to be hatched. To bring these Pals into existence, you will first need to craft an egg incubator.
Finding Eggs in Palworld
Eggs can be found at fixed spawn points throughout Palworld's map. Once an egg is collected, a new one will eventually respawn in its place. Interactive map tools can assist in locating the numerous egg spawn sites. The type of egg that respawns at a given location is random; a damp egg one day might be a verdant egg the next.
Eggs come in three sizes: normal, large, and huge. Larger eggs naturally weigh more. Alternatively, players can obtain eggs through breeding. Once you reach level 19 and unlock the breeding farm, two Pals of opposite genders can produce an egg after being successfully paired and given cake.
Crafting and Using the Egg Incubator
To unlock the egg incubator recipe, you must reach at least level 10 and acquire Ancient Technology Points. These points are primarily earned by defeating bosses, such as Zoe and Grizzbolt or the Chillet.
Once the recipe is unlocked, the egg incubator can be built using 10 Paldium fragments, five cloth, 30 stone, and two ancient civilization parts. These parts are also obtained by defeating bosses.
After placing the incubator, you can insert any collected eggs. It is important to note that removing an egg once incubation has started will reset the timer. Eggs will hatch more quickly if their temperature needs are met. Scorching eggs require a warmer environment, while frozen eggs benefit from cooler conditions. Players can use items like campfires to adjust the temperature. At level 30, an electric egg incubator becomes available, which automatically regulates the temperature to suit the egg. Further enhancements include the large incubator at level 48, which hatches multiple eggs simultaneously and also regulates temperature. At level 58, the large-scale electric egg incubator offers temperature regulation, multi-egg hatching, and increased hatching speed.
The time it takes for an egg to hatch depends on server settings, egg size, and how well the temperature comfort level is maintained. All hatched eggs will yield a level one Pal.
Understanding Egg Types and Hatched Pals
Each elemental type in Palworld corresponds to a specific egg, which in turn hatches a Pal of that element. For instance, a damp egg might hatch a Celaray or a Fuack.
The elemental correspondences are as follows:
- Scorching egg: Fire
- Verdant egg: Grass
- Rocky egg: Ground
- Electric egg: Electric
- Damp egg: Water
- Frozen egg: Ice
- Dragon egg: Dragon
- Dark egg: Dark
- Common egg: Neutral
Larger eggs generally contain rarer Pals, meaning Pals that are typically found in later game stages. For example, a huge verdant egg could yield a Mammorest, a Pal usually encountered in the mid-30 level range. Hatching large eggs is an effective method for acquiring late-game Pals earlier in your playthrough.
Mutated eggs also exist, but these can only be obtained through breeding, not found in the wild.
