Obtaining Blackbeard's treasure in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced involves a challenging quest that leads players through underwater caverns, hidden passages, and encounters with hostile pirates. The journey begins after completing the main quest "Do Not Go Gently," which rewards players with Blackbeard's treasure map and initiates the side quest "Blackbeard's Treasure."
The treasure is located in Anotto Bay, a small area north of Kingston. Players approaching Anotto Bay for the first time may face attacks from enemy ships. However, if the location has been previously visited, fast travel is available, allowing players to dock their ship directly.
To begin the search for the treasure, players should swim to the wooden staircase and diving bell on the left side of the bay. From there, dive into the water and enter the tunnel situated behind an old minecart and colorful fish. Players will need to be prepared to dodge a shark attack shortly after entering the tunnel. The path soon splits; taking the right and upward route, indicated by a ladder, progresses toward the treasure. An optional detour to the left leads to a tunnel with sea urchins, and a subsequent right turn reveals a regular treasure chest, guarded by another shark.
Upon encountering an air current, players should follow it upward to reach an air pocket for replenishing oxygen. Continuing along the current next to two large jellyfish and a ladder will lead to a dry tunnel. Players may also swim further ahead before ascending to find an additional treasure chest.
Once in the dry tunnel, players must assassinate a pirate around a corner before proceeding through another passage that opens into a larger, dry chamber. Inside this chamber, two quarreling pirates will inadvertently cause an explosion, eliminating themselves. After dealing with any remaining pirates, players must use explosives to clear a blocked pathway. A small red barrel, detonated with a pistol from a safe distance, can break down the stone wall in the east.
It is important to note that a key required to open a locked chest within this room is carried by an NPC who does not spawn while the "Blackbeard's Treasure" quest is active. Players will need to complete the quest and return later to access this specific chest.
Following the tunnel forward leads to a large cave chamber. Here, players must again deal with pirates, utilizing explosive red barrels to their advantage. Another small red barrel should be placed on the northeast wall, up a ledge behind a waterfall, and detonated to reveal the final area. Several red barrels are available at the foot of the ledge and near the waterfall.
Blackbeard's treasure chest is located behind the destroyed wall. After a concluding cutscene, players must return to Great Inagua and open the chest at the docks to successfully complete the "Blackbeard's Treasure" quest. The reward for this endeavor is not gold, but rather Blackbeard's portrait.
