Moonlight Peaks features a unique in-game card game called Nokturna, which players can engage in with the town's residents. Introduced by Dragan, the game's creator, Nokturna offers a way to spend time during the nights in the supernatural setting.
Playing Nokturna
To initiate a game of Nokturna, players can speak to any character and select the 'Invite' option. While not all characters will participate, Dragan and Death are recommended as practice opponents. Dragan can typically be found near the Midnight Market during the first half of most nights.
A match consists of three rounds, and the first player to win two rounds is declared the victor. However, a tie at the end of a match results in no winner.
The objective of each round is to accumulate more points than your opponent. Points are earned by playing cards, with the value of each card contributing to the player's score at the end of their turn. The current score is displayed on the left side of the screen.
Success in Nokturna depends on a combination of card draw luck and strategic use of Ability Cards, which can significantly alter the course of a game. Players must observe their opponent's plays and card values to strategize their own moves effectively. For instance, if an opponent has played a card worth five points, bringing their total to five, a player would need to play a card worth six or higher to win the round.
