How to Reach Meigu Lake in Phantom Blade Zero

Accessing Meigu Lake in Phantom Blade Zero requires navigating environmental obstacles and defeating specific enemies. The journey begins near the Village of Lu and the city of Pangzhen, with a key item needed to progress.

Reaching Meigu Lake via Pangzhen

The Meigu Lake zone is located in the northeastern section of Pangzhen, near the Pavilion of Knowledge. However, the direct path is blocked by thorny brambles. To clear this obstruction, players must find a Phantom Edge called the Flaming Mane. This involves completing main objectives within Pangzhen until the Lion Dance Grandmaster is defeated in the northwestern part of the city. After this, interacting with a marked NPC should allow the activation of the Flaming Mane, which can then burn away the vines. Following this path, players will traverse streets and rooftops, eventually encountering a boss named Soulclaimer. Defeating Soulclaimer grants access to the docks and a cliffside area.

Exploring Meigu Lake and its Islands

Meigu Lake itself is a large body of water dotted with islands and featuring the Sha-Chi Tower. Players can explore the ground and upper levels of the tower, but progression requires entering via the lower section. This is achieved by sailing a mechanized boat to the northern side of the structure and locating an opening. The lake can be navigated by boat to reach various islands and tag bells, gradually revealing the map. Notable islands include Songhouse Island, which contains ruins and a boss encounter; defeating this boss yields a component necessary for the Illusory Pipa. Quick Hand Zhang also has a hideout on one of these islands. The boats do not require fuel, allowing for extensive exploration of the lake and its landmarks.

The Frozen Lake Dock and Four Guardians' Mirror

The northwestern corner of the Meigu Lake zone presents a unique challenge with its frozen water. While paths from other directions may seem impassable, a hidden cove along the western side leads to a dock by a fishing village. This area is significant as it is where Old Man Gen’s questline can be concluded. Additionally, a bell known as the Four Guardians’ Mirror is located in this frigid landscape. Access to this bell is granted only after acquiring the four Acolyte Masks. Further secrets are said to await discovery in these frozen northern regions.
