Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced offers players a wardrobe of 28 distinct outfits, a slight increase from the original game's count. While many are still acquired through traditional means like purchasing from merchants or crafting, the remake shifts the locations of some and introduces new outfits tied to specific editions or in-game activities. This guide details how to acquire every outfit available.
Starting Outfits
Players begin with two outfits early in the story. Edward Kenway's default robes are unlocked upon leaving Havana, and they can be modified to resemble Duncan Walpole's original Assassin robes. Pre-ordering the game grants access to Blackbeard's Crimson Outfit, while the Deluxe Edition includes the Master Assassin pack, which provides black and gold robes of the same name.
World and Merchant Outfits
Several outfits are acquired by exploring the game world or through in-game purchases. The Brown Cloak can be found in a chest within the Governor's compound in southeast Havana. The Pirate Cloak, a variation of the Brown Cloak with a skull design, is available for 600 Reales from the General Store after liberating Great Inagua. Captain Drake's Outfit is found in a chest off the northeast coast of Sacrifice Island. The Merchant Outfit, Politician's Outfit, and Privateer Outfit can each be purchased for 3,000 Reales from the General Store after completing the Sequence 4 main mission "Overrun and Outnumbered."
Crafting and Treasure Maps
Some of the more unique outfits require crafting or completing treasure hunts. The Feline Pelt, Whaler, and Shark-Hunter Outfits are all crafted at the Treasure Dealer in Great Inagua after completing the Sequence 4 mission "This Old Cove." These outfits require specific animal pelts or whale skins. Stede Bonnet's Attire is obtained by looting a chest on the east hill of Mystery Island. Captain Morgan's Redingote, originally part of the Black Island DLC, is found in a chest north of Black Island. The Pirate Captain Outfit requires completing the Ambergris Key buried treasure map, and the Crimson Cloak is acquired via the Anotto Bay buried treasure map, which was an outfit directly available from the General Store in the original game. The Governor Outfit requires completing the Isla Providencia buried treasure map, accessible after progressing the main story.
In-Game Challenges and Activities
Outfits can also be unlocked through specific in-game challenges. The Stealth Outfit is awarded for completing 16 Assassin Contracts. The Foreign Diplomat Disguise is a reward from the Sequence 12 main mission "Governor No Longer." To obtain the Mayan Armour, players must find all 16 Mayan stones to complete the Mayan Mysteries side quest and unlock a door in Tulum. The Templar Armour is unlocked after completing Sequence 3, followed by four Templar Hunts, using the keys obtained to open a gate in Great Inagua.
Master Assassin and Base Upgrades
Edward's Master Assassin robes are earned by completing the Art Lover quest, which involves collecting various art pieces found through raiding warehouses, boarding vessels, and opening chests. The "Edward the Legend" outfit is unlocked by fully restoring and upgrading every building at the player's base in Great Inagua, a resource-intensive endeavor.
New Additions from Shadows
Black Flag Resynced also incorporates outfits from Assassin's Creed Shadows. Naoe's Robes and Yasuke's Yoroi can be obtained by reaching level 12 in their respective Riptides and Undertow Animus Projects, which are free battle passes progressed by earning and spending Data Fragments. The Dark Animus Corsair Robes are unlocked by reaching level 18 in the Eye in the Dark Animus Project, a battle pass exclusive to Black Flag Resynced that progresses through Anomaly challenges.
Animus Exchange
Connor's Outfit from Assassin's Creed 3 is now available for purchase for 3,000 Animus Keys from the Animus Exchange store, serving as the successor to the Uplay challenges that previously housed legacy Assassin outfits. It is speculated that Ezio's and Altaïr's robes may also appear in the Animus Exchange in the future, similar to how Connor's outfit was added.
