In Valor Mortis, players may find numerous upgrade materials early on but might struggle to locate the facility for enhancing their Transmutation abilities. This guide details how to access and utilize these upgrades.
The ability to upgrade Transmutations becomes available after completing the main quest, Rendezvous. This quest concludes with the player finding Louis and returning him to the Abandoned Church. Once back at the Church, speak with James, then with Louis. Following this conversation, a tooltip will appear, revealing that Transmutations can be upgraded using Louis's Laboratoire, located on the workbench next to Louis.
Upgrading requires Transmutation Materials, which are discovered throughout the game world. The rarity of these materials increases as players progress. As Transmutations are upgraded, they grow in power, and at certain levels, players can select new passive effects. For instance, the Fire Transmutation can be enhanced to deal increased melee damage to Ignited enemies.
