In Creative Mode, the Cushion recipe is unlocked by default. However, survival players must first acquire a Cushion block to add the recipe to their crafting inventory. This guide details how to locate the Cushion crafting recipe and the materials required for its creation.
Finding the Cushion Crafting Recipe
To unlock the Cushion crafting recipe in Survival Mode, you need to break a Cushion block and collect it. The most reliable locations for finding Cushions are Abandoned Campsites. These structures often feature several Cushions, typically placed around the campfire. Abandoned Campsites can spawn in any forested area, not exclusively within the Dappled Forest biome introduced with the update. They are recognizable by their tents, constructed from the new Wool Steps item, which may be dyed but often appear white, making them visible even from a distance.
It is also advisable to unlock various dye recipes prior to manufacturing Cushions. Dyes allow for color customization of existing Cushions without expending additional wool, promoting resource efficiency.
Crafting Cushions
The crafting recipe for a Cushion requires three Wool Slabs of the same color. The resulting Cushion will match the color of the Wool Slabs used. If the slabs are not all the same color, the Cushion cannot be crafted.
Color customization of an existing Cushion can be achieved by placing it in the crafting grid alongside the desired dye color. This process transforms the Cushion to the selected hue without requiring new wool.
