To progress through the game's story and construct more advanced items, upgrading all your tools is a necessity. This guide details how to achieve these upgrades.
How to Upgrade Tools
Tool upgrades are handled by Ridge at the Howling Hammer shop, located within the town. It is important to note that this shop operates on a Monday through Friday schedule. To initiate an upgrade, speak with Ridge, select the "Shop" option, and then choose "I want to buy something." Navigate twice to the tool upgrades section. Each upgrade tier requires a combination of money and specific ore types. As your journey progresses, you will gain access to new ore veins within the Cave of Echoes, situated in the far-left area of the Misty Shores biome. Prioritizing the pickaxe upgrade is advisable, as it will grant access to larger mineral deposits, facilitating further upgrades.
