Players undertaking the quest "The Mysterious Bay" in Moonlight Peaks will need to clear a fallen tree to progress and assist new mermaid residents. The objective may cause confusion as the obstruction is not located in the adjacent Howling Marshes.
Casting the Arborascend Spell
To remove the fallen tree, players must acquire and cast the Arborascend spell. This spell can be purchased from Sabrina at the Webb of Wonders. Casting Arborascend requires three mana. Players may need to supplement their mana reserves by avoiding other mana-consuming activities for the day or by consuming mana-restoring food.
The casting pattern for Arborascend, which resembles a tree once completed, is down, up, right, left, up. A reminder of all spellcasting patterns can be found in the first tab of the in-game almanac.
Locating the Fallen Tree
The fallen tree is situated in Moonlit Pines, not the Howling Marshes. It is found near Luna's seed cart and cottage. Specifically, the log obstructs a small waterfall located west of the stairs leading to Luna's home.
Once the correct location is identified, casting the Arborascend spell will trigger a cutscene that clears the tree. Following this, Kim will express gratitude, mentioning the reunion with her companion, "Sammy."
