Vampsters are small, easily overlooked creatures scattered throughout the world of Moonlight Peaks. Successfully finding and returning them requires careful observation and adherence to a few key rules.
Locating Vampsters
Vampsters can be found in various hidden spots across Moonlight Peaks, often concealed behind trees, within tall grass, under furniture, or in otherwise obscure locations. The most effective method for locating them involves patiently scanning your surroundings in a given area. Look for anything that appears out of place.
For instance, one Vampster can be found resting on a slab within the Cave of Echoes, while another is hidden beneath the decking steps outside Death's shack. When exploring expansive outdoor areas, utilizing in-game tools to clear dense overgrowth can reveal hidden items, including Vampsters.
Returning Vampsters to Their Home
Once a Vampster is found, interact with it to pick it up. You must then carry it back to its designated home, located near the entrance of the Cave of Echoes in Misty Shores.
Upon reaching the small doorway that serves as their home within the cave, place the Vampster on the ground. It will then proceed inside on its own. However, several critical conditions must be met during this process:
- Do not speak to any other characters while carrying a Vampster. Engaging in conversation will cause the creature to escape and return to its original hiding spot.
- Do not put the Vampster down at any point before reaching its home. If you set it down, even briefly, it will run back to where you found it.
- Ensure you deliver them to the correct doorway inside the Cave of Echoes. Dropping them off outside this specific location will not count as a successful return.
An exception to this rule is Larry, a Vampster residing with Alina. Larry is content in its current home and does not need to be returned to the cave. Leave Larry undisturbed.
