Mortal Shell 2 features a variety of peculiar items, among them is Mether's Flesh. This guide details its location within the Sanguine Caverns, how to present it to the Nightfish, and the humorous reward that follows.
Locating Mether's Flesh
To acquire Mether's Flesh, players must travel to the northernmost Corrupted Gate in Fainweald, which serves as the entrance to the Sanguine Caverns. Upon entering the dungeon, progress through the area until you discover the first Beacon, known as the Pulsing Caves. After cleansing this Beacon, turn around to find a cluster of Stone Crabs gathered around a pit. Players will need to descend into this pit, utilizing ledges to mitigate fall damage. Be aware of nearby exploding enemies and ensure your health is managed.
At the pit's bottom, three Tar Corpses will be positioned against a wall. Move towards them and then retreat before they detonate. Strike the nearby stalagmites once to reveal a hidden alcove containing Mether's Flesh. A note found with the item reads, "Do not weep for me, brethers. I have been called by the Blessed Mether. Here, I shall remain with her forevermore."
Examining Mether's Flesh in the inventory will reveal the cryptic message, "the Nightfish dreams of the Mether's Flesh," indicating the next step.
## Finding the Nightfish
The Nightfish resides in the expansive Nochte swamplands, located in the western region of the game's map. The nearest accessible Beacon in this area is named the Outskirts of Nochte. From this Beacon, proceed past the adjacent ruined archways towards a shoal populated by Head Trees and Homonculi. A cavern to the left will house the Nightfish. Interacting with it presents the option to offer Mether's Flesh.
It is important to note that offering Mether's Flesh to the Nightfish will disable its feature for converting coins to Gloom.
The Mango Sanctuary Reward
Upon offering Mether's Flesh, the Nightfish will consume the player, leading them to a secret area called the Mango Sanctuary. Within the main chamber of this sanctuary lies a colossal fruit. Interacting with this fruit grants the player a Mango.
When used as an active item, the Mango provides an instant 50% health restoration. Alternatively, equipping it as a passive item unlocks the Mango Mask, which can be equipped at a Beacon to transform the character's head into a large piece of fruit.
