Sulfur is a crucial resource in Palworld, primarily needed for crafting gunpowder, which in turn is essential for ammunition production. While a dedicated sulfur mining site can be unlocked at player level 46 using five ancient technology points, it requires significant resources to construct, including stone, Paldium fragments, ancient civilization parts, and sulfur itself. Consequently, players must first gather sulfur from natural deposits before they can establish an automated supply.
Locating Sulfur Deposits
Sulfur deposits are most abundant in Palworld's desert biome, with additional nodes found in the bamboo grove situated to its west. These deposits appear as distinct yellow-ish rocks amidst other geological formations. Players can mine sulfur using any pickaxe, and Pals with mining capabilities can assist in its collection.
Several specific locations offer accessible sulfur nodes. In the Anubis Dunes area, a deposit can be found at coordinates (-116, -139). Another node is located nearby at (-121, -122). Southwest of the Anubis Dunes statue, two more nodes are available at (-157, -112) and (-173, -116). The northeastern section of the dunes contains nodes at (-154, -58) and (-132, -69).
Mining sulfur in the bamboo grove can also be productive. One deposit is located at (-195, -103), with a second node south of it at (-188, -136).
While sulfur can also be found around Mount Obsidian, a mid-game area characterized by dangerous Pals, it is generally recommended for players to focus on the desert and bamboo grove regions for a safer and more efficient gathering experience.
Using Pals like Cattiva can increase carry capacity, allowing for more sulfur to be collected in a single trip. A metal pickaxe is recommended for faster mining, requiring 15 stone, 20 wood, and 15 ingots to craft. Once players reach the Mount Obsidian area, numerous sulfur deposits exist, with seven nodes found between the Eternal Pyre Tower Entrance fast travel point and the Tower of the Brothers of the Eternal Pyre tower around coordinates (-588, -518).
