Phantom Blade Zero: A Guide to Locating All Serpent Houses

Navigating the world of Phantom Blade Zero requires players to locate and interact with several Serpent Houses, which are vital for progressing through the campaign and unlocking late-game content. These mysterious locations offer unique rewards and unlock new gameplay mechanics.

Pangzhen: Green Serpent House The Green Serpent House is intrinsically linked to the main questline in Pangzhen, making it difficult to miss. Upon arrival, players will encounter an apprentice named Xie Xaorong, who provides access to the medicine upgrade function at bells. The house itself is identifiable by an ornate snake door that is initially locked, missing key components: eyes, tongue, and fang. Completing objectives here yields the Green Serpent Brew (medicine) and a Serpent Gall: Green (fragment).

Crimson Forest: Red Serpent House Located due north of the Thieves’ Camp, the Red Serpent House in the Crimson Forest is likely to be one of the first Serpent Houses players encounter. Access is granted only after obtaining the Flaming Mane, a tool used to burn through brambles blocking the path. The Flaming Mane can be acquired by defeating the Lion Dance Grandmaster boss in northwest Pangzhen, an objective that ties into the main quest. Inside the Red Serpent House, players can find the Red Serpent Tongue and Loong Emblem: Yin, both crucial quest items, along with a Serpent Rattle: Red fragment.

Village of Lu: Black Serpent House In the Village of Lu, players must again utilize the Flaming Mane to clear brambles, revealing the Black Serpent House. This location provides the Black Serpent Fang and Loong Emblem: Yang quest items, as well as a Black Serpent Venom Sac fragment. Additionally, players can obtain a Reinforced Bowstring, which is used for the Feather Bow Soul Temper.

Meigu Lake: White Serpent House The White Serpent House is situated on an island in the eastern part of Meigu Lake. Access to the main area is contingent on collecting the Lóng Emblems found throughout the game. Once inside, players will discover a Treasure Basin accessory and a Sha-Chi Amber Fragment for upgrades. The Heartpiercer, an Elite Shadow Warden, drops the Sundering Dual Axes, a dual-wield weapon. Players will also find the White Serpent Eye quest item and two Leng Tu’s Memory Flowers. Notably, the four Serpent fragments collected from various houses automatically combine into the Serpent’s Memory, a Soul Temper material for the White Serpent & Crimson Viper.

The Serpent Door and Mirage Estate: A Point of No Return With the Red Serpent Tongue, Black Serpent Fang, and White Serpent Eye in hand, players can return to the Green Serpent House in Pangzhen. Placing these items into the ornate door unlocks a hidden passageway leading to the Mirage Estate. It is crucial to understand that this transition marks a point of no return. Players will receive a warning about potentially failing unfinished quests if they proceed. It is strongly advised to complete all outstanding objectives and explore thoroughly before entering the Mirage Estate to avoid missing out on any content or rewards. Players are encouraged to explore other regions and gather additional main weapons and their associated Soul Temper materials.
