Quickhand Zhang, a key NPC in Phantom Blade Zero, tasks players with finding unmarked treasure chests scattered throughout various regions after being freed. These chests contain valuable items, including new Phantom Edge weapons and accessories that can enhance combat abilities.
Crimson Forest Treasure Locations
The Crimson Forest holds three of Quickhand Zhang's treasure chests. The first chest, rewarding the Flying Dagger (Phantom Edge), is found by using the Crimson Forest Tunnel Crank to unlock a grate. Players will need to defeat a butcher and dogs to access it. The second chest is behind the Thieves Camp Dungeon gate. Its key is obtained by retrieving a cellar crank from the Cliffside Lodge, unlocking the cellar, and finding the key on a corpse below. The third chest is located in a cave near the Thieves Camp bell, requiring players to defeat dogs and their master.
Village of Lu Treasure Locations
In the Village of Lu, players can find three chests, the first of which yields the Fine Thread accessory. Starting from the Well of the Three Puppets bell, players ascend a large house, climb a ladder, and navigate through a puppet-filled room to find the chest near an altar. The second chest is near the Lady's Grounds bell; after defeating Master Bi Yuan, players can climb a wall to reach an upper level where the chest is located. The third chest is found by descending a rope shaft near the Survivors' Courtyard bell, leading to a room filled with puppet enemies.
Pangzhen Treasure Locations
Pangzhen offers four treasure chests, with the first rewarding the Goldblaze Phantom Edge. Accessing this first chest requires the Tianxeng Pavilion Key, obtained from a puppet in the Order's underground tavern. Players then navigate through the Huang Manor Crossroads, unlock the Tianxeng Pavilion, and find the chest on the first floor. The second chest requires the You Loong's Deluge Phantom Edge, obtained after defeating You Loong. Players can then use the deluge to pass a flaming barrier and find the chest on a rooftop platform. The third chest is located in a small house in a garden after defeating Wu Xuan, The Fallen General. The final Pangzhen chest is found by backtracking from the Pond of Fading Song bell, ascending stairs into a building.
Meigu Lake Treasure Locations
Meigu Lake contains three treasure chests, the first of which grants the Sha-Chi Blood Catalyst medicine. From the Blackwater Crew Dock bell, players can traverse an arena and use a zipline to reach a sandy area where the chest is located. The subsequent two treasures are in a special area unlocked via the 'Secrets at the Heart of the Lake' quest, which involves defeating four acolyte scarecrow bosses. Once inside this secret area, one chest is found on a platform along a cliffside, and the final chest is located on the last ship before a shrine.
Quickhand Zhang has one final area for treasure, but it is located near the end of the game and is currently under embargo.
