Phantom Blade Zero: How to Access the Mountain of Imprisonment

The Mountain of Imprisonment in Phantom Blade Zero, a zone recommended for players to visit before completing the campaign, can be accessed through Meigu Lake. This large body of water separates settlements like Pangzhen and the Village of Lu, with the entrance situated near an island dock in the lake's northeastern section.

Initially, the area is inaccessible due to a persistent mist. Players must first repair the Illusory Pipa. Once repaired, the Pipa can be played at the dock's location, which dispels the fog and triggers a cutscene of the protagonist, Soul, arriving in the new region. This action is the key to clearing the mists and proceeding.

The Mountain of Imprisonment holds significance as the location for certain quests originating from other areas that cannot be tackled elsewhere. If a quest objective seems untrackable or a next step remains unclear, it is likely situated within this region.

An example includes the Cui quest from the Village of Lu, where Cui’s grandfather is found trapped in a cage. Similarly, the Ailing Man, a character involved in the Don’t Forget Me quest from an NPC in Pangzhen, is also found imprisoned here. Interacting with characters like Zhou Ping and Lu Sanqian can also lead to further objectives.

Completing the Hero’s Lament/Moji’s Relic objective awards a powerful Phantom Blade and unlocks a subsequent quest from another NPC, which in turn leads to another task from their companion. This questline is also the method for acquiring the Pangzhen Courtyard Key.

Upon reaching the shrine at the summit, players will find additional content. The main objective leading to the summit and shrine in the northwest culminates in a boss encounter that rewards the player with another Phantom Edge, an item that aids in exploration. Further steps after this encounter guide the player back to the Crimson Manor in Weeping Creek Valley, continuing Soul's journey through the Wulin.
