To locate the Primal Stone for the "A Severed Mindseal" quest in Phantom Blade Zero, players must first engage with the Friendly Shadow Warden at the Valley Sha-Chi Tower Summit. This optional quest begins after progressing through the main path of Weeping Creek Valley and reaching the tower's roof.
Starting 'A Severed Mindseal'
To initiate the quest, players need to proceed to the Valley Sha-Chi Tower Summit. After passing the Valley Sha-Chi Tower 1st Floor bell, enter the building and ascend to the roof. There, players will find the Friendly Shadow Warden, who will assign the task of retrieving the Primal Stone.
Obtaining the Sha-Chi Furnace Inspection Crank
Before the Primal Stone can be found, players must acquire the Sha-Chi Furnace Inspection Crank. This item is obtained by defeating a cloaked enemy located near a ledge on the path across the roof of the Valley Sha-Chi Tower. Teleporting to the summit and following the roof path will lead players to a tall ladder. Descending this ladder reveals the enemy who drops the crank upon defeat. If this enemy is missed, they will remain available for combat upon returning to the area.
Locating the Primal Stone
With the Sha-Chi Furnace Inspection Crank in hand, players should return to the Valley Sha-Chi Tower's first floor. On the north side of the furnace, a stone mechanism can be interacted with using the crank. This action will open a hatch, revealing the Primal Stone within.
Completing the Quest
Upon retrieving the Primal Stone, players must return to the Friendly Shadow Warden at the Valley Sha-Chi Tower Summit to complete the initial stage of "A Severed Mindseal." The Warden will then indicate that he will be encountered again in the future.
