Pokémon Pokopia 'Pumpkaboo's Sweet Surprises' Event: How to Get Candy and Halloween Rewards

Pokémon Pokopia has launched its first seasonal event, "Pumpkaboo's Sweet Surprises," introducing a Halloween theme with new decorative items and mechanics. The event runs from October 17 at 5 a.m. to November 1 at 4:59 a.m. local Switch time. Players can participate by rebuilding at least one Pokémon Center and learning the Camouflage ability from Zorua, which is acquired during the Bleak Beach questline.

Starting the Halloween Event

Upon booting the game during the event period, players will be prompted about a special Pokémon in town. Heading to the rebuilt Pokémon Center will reveal Pumpkaboo, who offers to trade event items for pumpkin candies. After befriending Pumpkaboo, players can access the event shop. Gourgeist, another Halloween-themed Pokémon, can also be attracted by creating specific event habitats. For those looking to acquire items without grinding for candies, the 3D printer offers a way to duplicate furnishings.

Earning Pumpkin Candy

Pumpkin candies are the primary currency for the "Pumpkaboo's Sweet Surprises" event. To earn them, players must use the Camouflage ability with Ditto to trick other Pokémon. This involves disguising Ditto as an item that a nearby Pokémon likes. Success is indicated when the Pokémon comments on the disguised object. After the Pokémon reacts, players can reveal Ditto's true form to startle them and receive between one and three pumpkin candies. It is important to note that a Pokémon cannot be tricked more than once.

Event Rewards and Decorations

The event introduces nine new furnishing items. Collecting all of them requires a total of 20 pumpkin candies. These items include a candy bucket, Cofagrigus locker, eerie statue, fun balloons, ghost smoke projector, huge table, pumpkin lantern, pumpkin lantern tower, and Trevenant streetlight. Acquiring all these furnishings will also unlock the special "Trick or Treat" photo frame.
