The contest began on Sunday, July 19, at 5 a.m. local time and will conclude on Monday, July 27, at 4:59 a.m. local time, giving players just under a week to participate and improve their scores.
Participating in the Event
To join Zorua's Hide-and-Sneak contest, players must first locate and unlock Zorua, who can be found in Bleak Beach. Once Zorua is added to your Pokédex, logging into the game during the event period will trigger a notification about a "Pokémon is the talk of the town." Visiting any rebuilt Pokémon Center will reveal Zorua wandering nearby. Interacting with Zorua initiates the contest. Players will be presented with a prompt to start the minigame.
How to Win
The minigame tasks players with reaching a PC located to the left of the Pokémon Center entrance without being detected by three searching Pokémon. Speed is crucial, as faster times yield better rewards. The game recommends utilizing the camouflage move, which prevents immediate detection if a searching Pokémon becomes suspicious. Staying still when suspected will cause the Pokémon to lose interest. Alternatively, players can attempt to sprint past a suspicious Pokémon for a brief moment, as they may not immediately notice the player, especially if the PC is close.
A particularly effective strategy involves initiating the minigame near the rear of the Pokémon Center to use the building as cover. From there, camouflage into a nearby object and sprint to the PC. This tactic has reportedly allowed some players to complete the event in as little as six seconds.
