Part 4 of Silent Hill: Townfall, titled Clara Woods, shifts the player's focus to a new residential area near St. Amelia, the Clara Woods Estate. This area houses individuals who worked at the nearby CEG building, which is the player's ultimate destination.
Exploring the Clara Woods Estate
Players continue as Simon, tasked with navigating the Clara Woods Estate. The initial approach involves walking along a road littered with corpses, some of which are not actually deceased and will require quick-time events to fend off. After reaching the end of this street, players can find Strange Postcard 10 in a garden shed. The entrance to the Clara Woods Estate is then accessible, where the Clara Woods Estate Map can be collected.
Before entering the estate, visiting the adjacent Locals store offers several useful items: Alcohol, two Gauze, three Pistol Rounds behind the front desk, a radio for CRTV signals, and a Plank accessible through the back emergency exit. The Store Staff Notice document is also found here.
Upon entering the estate, Simon receives a CRTV Signal from Richard, prompting a phone call that reveals his plea for help. The estate itself contains various points of interest, including the Stenhouse in the Shopping Precinct with Gauze and IV Fluid, the Clara Woods Statue, and several open apartments within House No. 1. Flat 1A contains the Atlas Square Apartment Note and a lockbox requiring a key found in the Post Service building's cash register, which holds an Empty IV Bag and two Pistol Rounds. Flat 1B contains Gauze and Strange Postcard 11. The storefront next to House No. 1 holds Strange Postcard 12 behind broken glass. Atlas Computers contains an Empty IV Bag, Alcohol, and a Floppy Disk Case that requires a key. A Strange Gate, leading to CEG Headquarters, also requires a key and prompts another CRTV Signal from Richard.
Accessing CEG Lockers and Unlocking Codes
Proceeding north on Prosperity Way leads to CEG Staff Parking and the entrance to CEG Lockers. Inside, the Locker Instructions document explains the use of Card Locker IDs with barcodes. A barcode for Locker 75 is conveniently located here, with the revealed pin being 184. This locker contains a Flare Gun and two Flare Rounds. Emails on the PC reveal the Lost and Found Locker code is 772 and list employee locker numbers and their addresses: Locker 17 at 5 South Brae, Locker 204 at 6 North Brae, and Locker 94 at 5 Upper Brae.
The back office of CEG Lockers allows access to the Lost and Found Locker using the 772 code, yielding the South Brae House Key. This room also contains a save phone, the CEG Lockers Managers Note, a medical kit with Alcohol and IV Fluid, and another lockbox. The next objective involves visiting the three specified houses to find locker barcodes.
Solving Puzzles at 5 South Brae
Heading to 5 South Brae, players can tune into a Radio Signal in the lounge, revealing Richard discussing a file with someone named Brian. The kitchen holds Pistol Rounds and a Flare Round, while the back garden shed contains a Pipe. The bathroom has Gauze and Antibiotics. A small bedroom contains a Gaming Magazine from Atlas Computers. The office features a PC requiring a Floppy Disk, a Printer, a locked Floppy Disk Case, a locked file box, and a save phone. The master bedroom contains the Disk Case Key. Using this key on the Floppy Disk Case in the office yields the Grouped Floppy Disks. The second disk is corrupted, necessitating a visit to Atlas Computers for repairs. The Gaming Magazine suggests Atlas Computers for disk repair. At Atlas Computers, the Disk Case Key unlocks the Floppy Disk Case, providing the Fix-A-Disk item.
Returning to the office at 5 South Brae, the PC can be used to repair the disks. After a series of steps involving inserting disks and using the Fix-A-Disk item, the printer can be used to print the Reciprocating Compressor diagram, which highlights Part ID 956. This ID is used on the locked file box in the room to obtain the Locker 17 barcode. Returning to CEG Lockers and scanning this barcode reveals the pin for Locker 17 as 575. This locker contains Bolt Cutters, a Mechanical Part, and three Pistol Rounds.
Navigating 5 Upper Brae and 6 North Brae
Using the Bolt Cutters on a gate at the top of a stairwell provides access to North Brae. Near No. 9 Upper Brae, a Condolence Card can be found. Before entering 5 Upper Brae, Strange Postcard 13 is located east along the street labeled 'Upper Brae'.
Inside 5 Upper Brae, the kitchen contains Pistol Rounds and a Flare Round. The lounge has a save phone and answer machine messages from Zoe and Richard. The bathroom provides Alcohol and Gauze. The office contains a transcription player and a note for a locked file box. The transcription player puzzle requires collecting Tapes: Today, Yesterday, Tomorrow, and Do Not Play. By playing these tapes and noting the transformed environments, players can find the notes 'Today my number was 192' and 'Today my number was 125'. The 'Current Count' email, accessed via the Ammonite Disk and a PC after playing Yesterday's tape, reveals the number 129 as the file box code. This code unlocks the box, yielding the Locker 94 barcode and the 5 Upper Braes Back Door Key. Playing Tomorrow's tape and visiting the garden shed allows collection of Strange Postcard 14. Playing Today's tape and going to the garden shed yields the Ammonite Disk.
Returning to CEG Lockers and scanning the Locker 94 barcode reveals the pin as 490. This locker contains Gauze, Pistol Rounds, and a second Mechanical Part. A shortcut to CEG Staff Parking can be accessed by unlocking a stairwell northwest of the Overpass.
At 6 North Brae, accessed via the back door, the kitchen contains a save phone, Pistol Rounds, and a Flare Round. The bathroom has Gauze and an Empty IV Bag. The master bedroom contains the Lamenting Poem and another locked file box. Solving the Lamenting Poem puzzle involves counting instances of 'boats', 'arches', and 'children' in paintings and photographs within the house. A painting features seven boats, another shows three archways, and photographs depict six children. These numbers, 7, 3, and 6, form the code 736 for the file box. This unlocks the Locker 209 barcode. A CRTV Signal from Richard directs Simon to the 10th Floor of CEG Headquarters. Returning to CEG Lockers, scanning the Locker 209 barcode reveals the pin as 971. This locker contains Pistol Rounds, a Flare Round, Alcohol, Gauze, and a third Mechanical Part.
Entering CEG Headquarters
Combining the three Mechanical Parts creates the Constructed Mechanical Device, which is used on the Strange Gate to enter CEG. A cutscene follows, showing Richard's death and a CRTV Signal from Zoe. Inside CEG HQ, the front desk has a CEG Information Notice and the CEG HQ Ground Floor Map. The break area has a First Aid Kit. The Auditorium contains locked file boxes and the Box IDs and Names document, highlighting Richard's Box ID as 36. The Maintenance room has a drawing involving the number 4 on a whiteboard and part of the Case Codes document in a bin.
The Security keypad code, 4891, is derived from the drawing on the whiteboard in the maintenance room. Inside Security, a save phone is present. Two emails on the PC offer no significant information. The bin contains the second half of the Case Codes document. Combining both documents reveals the code for Richard's locked file box as 486. Using this code on Box ID 36 in the Auditorium yields Richard's Employee File Cover Note, which contains his Employee ID: 00007820518. This ID is used at the PC in Security to generate Richard's Access Card.
Reaching the Office on Floor 10
With the Access Card, Simon can use the elevator to reach Floor 10. The only accessible room on this floor is an illuminated office, where a cutscene reveals Zoe's distrust of Richard's intentions.
