Effective use of spells in Moonlight Peaks can streamline many of the game's more tedious tasks, transforming farm management and resource gathering. While player preference plays a role, certain spells stand out for their utility in enhancing farm productivity and simplifying daily chores.
Essential Farm Spells
The Aquaflux spell is fundamental, especially for cultivating magical crops that require its specific watering properties. Beyond this requirement, it offers a convenient way to water crops without expending all your energy at once or while you focus on other activities. The first iteration of Aquaflux is acquired for free, and its upgraded versions, such as Aquaflux II, increase the number of crops watered per cast, from 16 to 48.
Refilliarmus is a zero-mana cost spell that instantly replenishes your watering can, eliminating the need to travel to a water source. This spell is invaluable for conserving mana and time, especially when Aquaflux is not readily available or when focused on other magical tasks.
Resource Gathering Magic
For players who spend considerable time mining ore and gems in the caves, Ethereal Pickaxes is a game-changer. Casting this spell allows spectral pickaxes to automatically break rocks, freeing up player energy. It is most effective when cast near the desired rocks or ore veins. Similarly, Ethereal Axes assist in harvesting wood, with Ethereal Axes I chopping up to 16 logs or trees, and Ethereal Axes II capable of felling up to 32.
Ethereal Shovels, with versions I and II, allow players to dig up to 32 or 64 spots respectively, accelerating the process of unearthing resources. For those focused on construction and expansion, Hoisthaven enables the relocation of buildings without incurring any in-game cost, provided the destination site is cleared beforehand. This spell costs three mana to cast.
Advanced and Situational Spells
Advanced spells, typically requiring the Witch's Wand, offer greater efficiency. Aborascend II allows for the movement of five trees, an upgrade from Aborascend I's single tree movement. Maturio II instantly grows crops in a 2x2 area, a significant improvement over the 1x1 area affected by Maturio I. Harvests can also be automated with Ethereal Hands II, which can harvest up to 64 crops, compared to 32 with Ethereal Hands I.
The Tomorrow's Tears spell, costing three mana, causes the following night to be rainy, which can reduce the need for manual watering, though it may interfere with other planned activities.
All spells in Moonlight Peaks are cast by matching a specific pattern; failure to do so will result in a failed cast. Basic spells become available during the 'Magic of Crops' main story quest, with further spells purchasable from Webb of Wonders. Higher-tier spells often require specific wands and are also available from vendors like Sabrina at Webb of Wonders.
