The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt offers players a variety of powerful armor sets, with the Witcher School gear being among the most sought after. These sets provide distinct bonuses tailored to different playstyles. Here's a guide to locating the diagrams for the Feline, Griffin, Ursine, and Wolven armor sets, along with their accompanying swords and crossbows.
Feline Armor Set
The Feline armor is a light witcher gear set focused on increasing attack power and critical hits. It requires level 17 to equip. The diagrams for the base set are found in Novigrad.
To begin, head to a cave on the north side of Temple Isle, the northernmost island in Novigrad. You will need Keira Metz's Eye of Nehaleni to dispel an illusory rock blocking the entrance. Once inside, solve a puzzle by using a lever near statues to make them face inwards, revealing a pool containing a key on a corpse. After retrieving the key, use it to unlock a door behind a golem. In the next room, you must defeat Mad Kiyan to acquire the armor diagrams.
The Feline Crossbow diagram is located in the wreck of the Flying Stag ship on an island west of Novigrad. The Steel and Silver Sword diagrams are found within Drahim Castle's basement south of Novigrad's Glory Gate and in the ruins of Est Tayiar northeast of Oxenfurt, respectively.
Upgrading the Feline armor to Enhanced, Superior, and Mastercrafted tiers involves purchasing maps from various merchants. Enhanced diagrams can be found by buying maps from a merchant in Blackbough. The Superior diagrams are acquired from the Crow's Perch quartermaster. For the Mastercrafted set, purchase maps from the armorer in Lindenvale.
Griffin Armor Set
The Griffin armor is a medium set that enhances the power of Signs, increasing their intensity and providing defensive bonuses when standing within a Yrden sign.
The base diagrams for the Griffin armor are located in Dragonslayer's Grotto in eastern Velen, northwest of Downwarren. After fighting through wraiths and navigating a gas-filled corridor, use Aard to break through a cracked wall. In the subsequent room, defeat an ekimmara to access a chest containing the armor diagrams. Reading the accompanying journal will reveal the locations of the Steel and Silver Sword diagrams, found in Hindhold watchtower in north Velen and Lornruk lighthouse in west Velen.
To upgrade the Griffin armor, purchase maps from blacksmiths and armorers. Edwin Greloff's maps, obtained from the Midcopse blacksmith, will lead to the Enhanced diagrams. The Hierarch Square armorer sells maps for the Superior set. The Mastercrafted diagrams can be found by purchasing maps from Éibhear Hattori after completing the 'Of Swords and Dumplings' quest.
Ursine Armor Set
The Ursine armor is the only heavy witcher gear set, offering high damage resistance. It requires level 20 to equip. The diagrams are located in the Skellige Isles.
Travel to the ruined castle on Urialla Isle in northeast Skellige. After navigating past a rock troll and sirens, enter the fort and proceed down a spiral staircase. Pulling a lever will open cell doors and spawn wraiths. Enter a cell to find a path leading to the throne room, where the diagrams are located in a chest to the right of the throne. Be prepared to fight three wraiths after looting the chest and exiting.
The Ursine Crossbow and Silver Sword diagrams are found within the Siren's Cave on Svorlag in northwest Skellige and the ruins of Fort Etnir in the north of the central island, respectively. The Steel Sword diagram is in the basement of a ruined inn southeast of Fyresdal.
Upgrade diagrams for the Ursine armor are all purchased from the Kaer Trolde armorer by acquiring Ibrahim Savi's maps.
Wolven Armor Set
The Wolven armor is a versatile medium set that provides balanced bonuses to attack power, sign intensity, and adrenaline gain.
The base diagrams for the Wolven armor are found in an old signal tower south of Kaer Mohern keep. Inside, players must use teleportation crystals and Aard signs to navigate through a puzzle. Successfully traversing the portal leads to a cave containing a corpse with the armor diagrams. The Wolven Steel and Silver Sword diagrams are located in the Bastion west of Kaer Mohern keep and the Ruined Watchtower north of the keep.
Upgrading the Wolven armor requires purchasing various notes from different merchants. Éibhear Hattori, after completing 'Of Swords and Dumplings,' sells notes for the Enhanced boots, armor, and silver sword. Lindenvale's armorer offers notes for the Enhanced gloves, trousers, and steel sword. The Hierarch Square armorer and Kaer Trolde's armorer provide notes for the Superior and Mastercrafted tiers, respectively.
