Valor Mortis features a total of seven weapons and three Transmutations that players can unlock for protagonist William. While most of these are likely to be found organically during gameplay, knowing their exact locations can be helpful for players who might be struggling. This guide details where to find each of them.
Weapons and Transmutations
The Saber is the starting weapon for William. The Fire Transmutation is also available from the outset, unlocked by interacting with a corpse at the beginning of the game.
The Pistol can be found after reaching the Demolished Path Lantern in the Valley of Ashes. Progress past the bridge, and you will find a carriage containing the pistol on a desk.
The Rapier is unlocked by interacting with a corpse in the courtyard of the Abandoned Church, which is on the path to find James' comrade, Louis. The Blunderbuss is located inside a carriage within the Fallen Village, specifically in the latter half of the area. This carriage is accessible only after defeating the large Volunteer enemy.
The Stasis Transmutation is found in the Caverns. After reaching the mines and ascending ladders to the Old Mine Lantern, take the path to the right from the rotating platform. Interacting with the corpse at the end of this path grants the Stasis Transmutation, which can freeze enemies and manipulate machinery.
To acquire the Musket, start from the Under the Bridge Lantern in the Vale of Wrath. Proceed across the bridge and into a small shack, then continue through the forest until the path splits. Take the left path towards a wooden building, but avoid entering it directly. Instead, follow the path to the left, being cautious of breakable wooden planks that lead to an underground tunnel. This tunnel will eventually lead to a military base area. Defeat the Volunteer enemy guarding a wagon to obtain the Wagon Key, which allows access to the Musket within the wagon.
Within the Cursed Hollow, after entering the church, interact with the corpse at the altar to obtain the Claymore. Players should be prepared for immediate combat after acquiring this weapon.
The Shield Transmutation requires accessing a shortcut in the University's Main Hall. From the Main Hall Lantern, go upstairs and through the leftmost door. Ride the elevator up, then ascend the stairs in the subsequent room. Interacting with the corpse here unlocks the Shield Transmutation, allowing players to fully block incoming attacks and poison damage.
