The Scarecrow quest in Valor Mortis requires players to retrieve two personal items belonging to the titular character: a medallion and a letter with a drawing. After collecting these items, players must then locate the lovers' hideaway.
Finding the Medallion
The medallion can be found along a short path to the left of the scarecrow. This path leads to a cross leaning against a tree, where a corpse can be found, presumably having dropped the medallion.
Locating the Letter
To find the letter with a drawing, players must progress through the level until they unlock a shortcut gate near the large house, which provides access back to the "Fields" lantern. From this lantern, head down the path towards the gate guarded by a Volunteer enemy. Instead of proceeding through the gate, turn left. Continue through the haystacks toward the distant house, noting a barn with a diamond-shaped window to your right. Enter the house through its back door and proceed upstairs to find the letter on a table.
Discovering the Lover's Hideaway
Once both the medallion and the letter have been returned to the scarecrow, the next objective is to find the lovers' hideaway. Return to the area described for finding the letter. Follow the same path, turning left before the gate guarded by the Volunteer. This time, proceed towards the barn with the diamond-shaped window that was noted earlier. Make your way around the back of the barn and climb into the hayloft. Inside, players will witness an echo of the lovers' meeting.
Quest Reward
Completing The Scarecrow quest rewards players with the Bountiful Harvest amber. This amber grants health benefits when collecting Nephtoglobin remnants.
