Big Poes, formidable spectral entities, are hidden throughout Hyrule Field in the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. These elusive ghosts can be captured in bottles and then sold to the Poe Collector in Hyrule Castle Town for a tidy sum. Each Big Poe is worth 30 rupees, making their collection a lucrative endeavor.
However, locating these specters presents a challenge due to their scattered positions across the game's largest map. Fortunately, the Poe Collector offers valuable rewards for players who successfully hunt down these spectral foes.
To embark on this spectral hunt, players will need Epona, their trusty steed, and the Fairy Bow acquired from the Forest Temple. It is also advisable to gather as many empty bottles as possible, as they are essential for capturing and transporting the Big Poes.
Players should search Hyrule Field for distinct purple lanterns situated on trees, fences, and walls. Upon interacting with these lanterns, a Big Poe will materialize. To capture one, players must keep pace with the ghost and strike it twice with an arrow or once with a Light Arrow. Their swift movement necessitates quick reactions, as failure to hit them promptly will require restarting the encounter.
There are a total of ten Big Poes to find, with their locations helpfully marked on the in-game map. After collecting five and then all ten Big Poes, players should return to the Poe Collector to sell their spectral prizes and claim their rewards.
The Poe Collector can be found in the old guard room within Hyrule Castle Town. Upon entering the town as adult Link, turn right to discover the purple door leading to the collector's establishment.
The Poe Collector offers two distinct rewards for collected Big Poes:
- Five Big Poes: An empty bottle
- Ten Big Poes: A Gold Rupee (worth 200 rupees)
