Bitter leaves are a necessary component for completing Leda's perform quest, "Popular Drink Recipes," in Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave. While not a rare material, its locations are spread across the game's map, requiring strategic travel to acquire. Collecting these leaves is crucial for obtaining rewards such as renown points, new drink recipes, and the Song of Passion+ skill upgrade for Leda.
There are four primary locations where players can find bitter leaves:
Traveler's Garden
Located in the northeast section of the Castalia region, Traveler's Garden is one of the more accessible nodes, especially after unlocking the Eochaid Posthouse. Visiting this spot will require a moderate number of turns if players have not yet established fast travel points in the area.
Cape Nereus
Situated in the Solidus region, the Cape Nereus node offers not only bitter leaves but also pepper leaves. The most efficient way to reach this location, assuming prior exploration, is by utilizing a carriage to the Aragona Posthouse.
Forest of No Return
Found in the western part of the Pasithea region, south of the desert, the Forest of No Return yields both bitter and pepper leaves. Reaching this node may involve encountering several battles. Its proximity to Breston and Whill settlements, as well as the Nemea Cavern, offers opportunities to acquire gifts and weapons or to level up characters. The Chiron Posthouse serves as the nearest travel point.
Maharipa Garden
Located in the Ogmios region, the Maharipa Garden is the sole source of wonder leaves in the game, in addition to bitter leaves. To access this node, players must travel south to Salacia Posthouse, then east past Megaira and the Grania Stronghold. From Fort Zanbar, players should proceed north. Early access to this location is particularly beneficial due to the unique wonder leaves.
Completing the "Popular Drink Recipes" quest requires delivering one pack of bitter leaves to the Tavern Owner by September 27th. Successful completion grants 200 renown points, unlocks new drinks, and provides the Song of Passion+ upgrade for Leda's skills.
