For those struggling with limited HDMI ports on their televisions, a significant early Black Friday deal has arrived for the Acer 5-in-1 HDMI Switch. Amazon is offering the device for $16.49 when customers apply the coupon code "O5H9O65A" for a 45% discount. This offer is available to all shoppers, regardless of Prime membership status.
The Acer HDMI Switch aims to solve the common problem of insufficient ports, which can arise from connecting multiple devices such as the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, gaming PCs, soundbars, and smart TV streaming devices. The switcher features five HDMI inputs and one output, allowing users to connect a variety of media sources to a single port on their TV.
Setup is designed to be straightforward. Users connect the switch's single HDMI output to an available HDMI port on their television. Then, cables from each gaming console or smart device are plugged into the five distinct HDMI inputs. A USB-C power adapter, which is not included in the package, will also need to be connected to a power outlet. The manufacturer recommends keeping cable lengths under 10 feet for optimal performance.
Supporting 4K video transfers at up to 60Hz, the Acer switch allows for direct input selection. This can be done using buttons located on the device itself or via an included infrared remote control, eliminating the need to cycle through inputs sequentially. While the HDMI cables and a power adapter are not part of the package, the discounted price of $16.49 makes these omissions understandable for a budget-friendly solution.
