Counter-Strike 2 professional player yxngstxr has stated that he switched away from the Logitech G Pro X2 Superstrike gaming mouse to the older G Pro Wireless Superlight 2, citing inconsistencies with the newer model. These comments were made to PC Gamer at a Logitech G Play event, which was held to celebrate the launch of the X2 Superstrike.
"I feel like the Superstrike, sometimes it's good, but it's inconsistent," yxngstxr explained. He also noted that a teammate, identified as Afro, had mentioned the mouse felt "more overweight." While yxngstxr did not personally feel the weight difference, he acknowledged that it might have contributed to his dissatisfaction, stating, "For me, sometimes it was very good, and sometimes I didn't like it at all."
Despite his reservations about the X2 Superstrike, yxngstxr did express a liking for the control offered by its clicks. The player had previously used the mouse when it was widely adopted by other players but ultimately found the Superlight 2 to be more reliable for his needs.
Another CS2 professional, Oscar 'Azuwu' Bell, shared a similar observation regarding another top player. "M0nesy [one of the best CS2 players], before the major, he was on the Superstrike, and for the major he went back to the Superlight," Bell recalled.
PC Gamer notes that the X2 Superstrike's predecessor, the X3 Superstrike, has addressed some of these concerns. The newer X3 model features a more centrally balanced weight distribution, a significant upgrade from the front-weighted balance that was noticeable in the X2. It remains to be seen if yxngstxr will consider switching to the X3 given these revisions.
The article also touches on the importance of mouse shape and grip comfort. The author suggests that Logitech might consider releasing more mouse shapes incorporating the Superstrike's HITS system, a possibility that the company neither confirmed nor denied when questioned.
