Gigabyte's Aorus line continues to innovate in the gaming monitor space with the introduction of the Aorus Elite FO27Q28G. This new 27-inch display is engineered for competitive gamers seeking top-tier, all-around performance, incorporating advanced AI features and cutting-edge display technology.
WOLED Evolved
The Aorus Elite FO27Q28G utilizes the latest Tandem OLED technology to deliver a fast, bright, and reliable visual experience. Gigabyte backs this with an extended warranty, offering a total of four years of coverage, including protection against burn-in.
The monitor features a 2K QHD resolution on its LG glossy-black panel, boasting a 1.5 million:1 contrast ratio. It achieves Vesa Certified DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification for deep, accurate blacks without color tinges, enhancing HDR10 performance. Gigabyte's proprietary Hypernits technology enables a peak brightness of 1,500 nits with 10-bit color depth, pushing highlights to exceptional levels while preserving detail in bright areas. The display covers 99.5 percent of the DCI-P3 color space with a Delta E accuracy of less than two. Wide 178-degree viewing angles ensure image quality remains consistent even when viewed from the side.
Performance is a key focus, with a rapid 280Hz refresh rate paired with a 0.03ms pixel response time to virtually eliminate motion blur during fast-paced gameplay. Compatibility with Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro ensures smooth, tear-free visuals across both PC and console platforms.
Giving Gamers an Edge
Beyond its core display capabilities, the FO27Q28G integrates several features designed to provide a competitive advantage. The Tactical HUD allows users to select and reposition specific screen areas, such as mini-maps, to a more convenient location on the display. The Tactical Crosshair offers customizable overlays to improve target acquisition in games where crosshairs are difficult to see or absent.
AI-driven dynamic color adjustment helps the crosshair contrast effectively with its background, ensuring visibility. The monitor also includes a Night Vision mode combined with an Eagle Eye sniper-zoom feature, allowing for a 4x zoom in a small window without sacrificing overall screen awareness. Additional Game Assist features include on-screen timers and picture-in-picture functionality for multitasking.
The design of the FO27Q28G emphasizes immersion with a borderless, edge-to-edge display. Its robust stand offers extensive adjustability, including swivel, pivot, tilt, and up to 130mm of height adjustment. The monitor also features gamer-centric aesthetic touches like aggressive angles and RGB lighting.
Comprehensive Connectivity
Connectivity options on the Aorus Elite FO27Q28G include a standard HDMI 2.1 port alongside the latest DisplayPort 2.1, supporting UHBR13.5 bandwidth for up to 54 Gbps of uncompressed video. A USB-C port with 15W power delivery is included for simultaneous device connection and charging. Additionally, an HDMI 2.1 port with eARC support allows for high-quality audio output to soundbars, enhancing the home theater experience.
Prevention, Protection, and Peace of Mind
Gigabyte addresses OLED burn-in concerns with a combination of hardware and AI-powered software solutions. Enhanced thermal cooling technology, utilizing heat pipes and specialized materials, dissipates heat evenly across the panel to prevent hot spots and reduce overall temperatures. This hardware approach is complemented by Gigabyte's AI OLED Care Pro suite.
This software suite includes features like Auto Lock, which powers down the screen when inactive and reactivates it upon return, and Adaptive Light control to adjust brightness based on ambient lighting. Automated and manual screen care settings such as Pixel Clean, Static Control, Pixel Shift, and local dimming are also available to maintain panel health. These measures contribute to Gigabyte's confidence in offering a four-year warranty, with one year specifically covering image burn-in.
For gamers seeking a high-performance OLED monitor with advanced features, competitive enhancements, and robust protection against burn-in, the Aorus Elite FO27Q28G presents a compelling option. It is available for purchase now.
