HP has refreshed its EliteBoard series with the G2a, a device that integrates a powerful AI PC directly into a keyboard. This latest iteration, dubbed the 'Next Gen AI PC,' features a Copilot key and packs significant hardware for AI-focused tasks into a compact form factor. The original Eliteboard G1a, introduced at CES 2026, offered hardware comparable to a Steam Deck with its Kraken Point APU and Radeon 860M integrated GPU.
The HP EliteBoard G2a houses up to 32 GB of RAM and an AMD Gorgon Point CPU within its unassuming keyboard shell. Pricing for the device starts at $3,028 in the US, with the most basic configuration including 16 GB of RAM and an AMD Ryzen AI 5 Pro 435 processor. A key requirement for using the EliteBoard G2a is a monitor that supports USB-C connectivity.
The substantial price tag, exceeding that of many prebuilt gaming PCs, is compounded by the integrated USB4 cable, which cannot be detached from the keyboard. A model with a detachable cable begins at $3,053, adding to the considerable cost.
For users seeking the most powerful configuration, HP offers a model equipped with a Ryzen AI 7 Pro 450 processor and 32 GB of RAM. This top-tier version weighs under 700 grams and measures 14.1 x 4.7 x 0.7 inches. However, this configuration comes with an even steeper price of $4,191.
