Nvidia GPU Prices Plummet, Creating Market Carnage

The graphics card market is experiencing significant price disruption, particularly affecting Nvidia's RTX 50 series. Extreme price drops have brought the RTX 5050, RTX 5060, and RTX 5060 Ti 8GB models to within $70 of each other. This pricing convergence is a stark contrast to their originally intended MSRPs.

This situation is driven by elevated prices across the board. The cheapest RTX 5050 observed is currently priced at $400 at Best Buy, exceeding its MSRP of $249 and even the $379 MSRP of the RTX 5060 Ti 8GB. Meanwhile, the RTX 5060 Ti 8GB is available for approximately $470 on Amazon, and the RTX 5060 can be found for around $420 at Newegg.

The pricing issues extend to higher-tier cards. The RTX 5060 Ti 16GB is currently retailing for $789, significantly above its MSRP of $429. Compounding this market confusion, the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB is priced identically to the RTX 5070, which is also listed at $789 at Walmart.

PC Gamer's internal tracking indicates a general upward trend in GPU prices, impacting even the high-end market. For consumers seeking a viable option, the AMD Radeon RX 9070 GRE presents a comparatively better value at $570, only $20 above its MSRP, available at Best Buy.
