Razer Viper V4 Pro Carbon Fiber Variant Reportedly Priced at $300

Reports suggest that Razer is preparing to release a lighter, carbon fiber variant of its highly regarded Viper V4 Pro gaming mouse, alongside a potential update to the DeathAdder V4 Pro. Peripheral reviewer iitzKami shared information on X, including images that appear to show the new models, stating that Razer is "going carbon fibre."

The current Razer Viper V4 Pro, praised for its lightweight design, excellent battery life, comfortable shape, and robust build quality, weighs in at 49 grams. The purported carbon fiber version is rumored to be even lighter, coming in at 47 grams. This reduction in weight is noted as being contrary to expectations, as a carbon fiber iteration of the Corsair Sabre V2 Pro was found to be heavier than its standard counterpart.

Accompanying these details are reports of a steep price point for the new Viper variant. iitzKami indicated that the mouse is "currently listed in some markets at roughly $300 USD." This aligns with information from Chinese tech site Expreview, which noted a listing on JD.com for 1,999 Chinese Yuan (RMB), approximately $299 USD.

This potential $300 price tag is notably higher than the current Razer Viper V4 Pro, which retails for $160. For context, this makes the existing Viper V4 Pro more affordable than other premium gaming mice such as the Logitech G Pro X2 Superlight ($180), the newer Logitech X3 Superlight ($200), and the SteelSeries Rival Pro/Sensei Pro ($180). The substantial price increase for a carbon fiber version, especially given that the standard Viper V4 Pro is already considered competitively priced among high-end options, may prove difficult for consumers to accept. There is hope that the high price may be due to market-specific factors or currency conversion quirks, and that official confirmation will clarify the pricing strategy.
