Solos has unveiled its latest iteration of smart glasses, the AirGo V2. Building on over two decades of experience in wearable technology, the company aims to integrate useful AI features into a sleek, modular frame. The AirGo V2, priced at $299, is positioned as Solos' most modular and technologically advanced offering to date.
The glasses weigh 40g and feature open-ear audio, designed for comfortable all-day use. A key feature is the integrated 16MP camera, capable of capturing photos and 2K FHD video at 30 fps with image stabilization. To address privacy concerns, Solos offers an optional $79 privacy kit that includes a clip-on front frame to obscure the camera. Alternatively, the ClearView Temple accessory replaces the camera hardware entirely by swapping out the glasses' arm.
Screen-Free AI Interaction
The AirGo V2 emphasizes interaction without needing to constantly look at a phone screen. Its SolosChat 4.0 software allows users to control functions like photo and video capture, ask questions, and access real-time translations in over 28 languages using voice commands. The processing is handled locally on the glasses, which the company states enhances speed and privacy. Multimodal AI integration also enables the glasses' cameras to identify objects and translate text.
Extended Battery Life
Solos claims the AirGo V2 offers up to 12 hours of use on a single charge, exceeding the battery life of comparable smart glasses. The device also supports an optional swappable battery temple, potentially extending usage for up to five days before requiring a recharge.
