Valve has updated the Steam Machine's product page to state that its CPU and GPU combination is capable of "up to" 4K gaming with FSR, a shift from its earlier assertion of "4K gaming at 60 fps with FSR." This adjustment comes in the wake of significant discussion regarding the device's performance capabilities following its price and release date announcement.
Initial claims suggested the Steam Machine could achieve 4K resolution at 60 frames per second with FSR. While this target was achievable in some instances with significant settings adjustments, certain demanding titles, such as Death Stranding 2, proved incapable of reaching it during testing. The introduction of FSR 4.1 on the Steam Machine appears to have prompted Valve to revise its claims to a more tempered "up to 4K gaming with FSR 4.1."
