Disney has once again increased the monthly price for its Disney Plus streaming service, with new rates taking effect on Wednesday. This marks another year of price adjustments for the platform, following similar hikes in previous years. The company's latest move aligns with a broader industry trend where streaming services are shifting their focus from subscriber growth to profitability.
This latest price increase affects multiple subscription tiers. The ad-supported version of Disney Plus now costs $12.49 per month. The ad-free Disney Plus Premium tier has seen a significant increase, now priced at $21.49 per month, or $214.99 annually. Bundling Disney Plus with Hulu offers a Premium subscription for $21.99 per month, a slight increase of 50 cents compared to the stand-alone premium Disney Plus price.
Several bundle options incorporating Disney Plus, Hulu, and ESPN have also been adjusted. The Disney Plus and Hulu Bundle with ads on both services is available for $12.99 per month, with an introductory offer of $11.99 per month for the first six months. The premium version of this bundle, without ads on either service, costs $21.99 per month, or $19.99 per month for the initial six months.
More comprehensive bundles also see price adjustments. The Disney Plus and Hulu Bundle with ads, plus ESPN Unlimited with ads, is now $35.99 per month. For an ad-free experience across Disney Plus and Hulu, with ads on ESPN Unlimited, the premium bundle is $44.99 per month. Bundles including Hulu + Live TV also see increases, with the standard option at $99.99 per month and the premium version at $109.99 per month.
Additionally, bundles including HBO Max have been updated. The Disney Plus (with ads), Hulu (with ads), and HBO Max (with ads) bundle is priced at $21.99 per month. A version without ads on Disney Plus and Hulu, but with ads on HBO Max, costs $34.99 per month.
Disney Plus originally launched in November 2019 with a single tier priced at $6.99 per month or $69.99 annually. Since its inception, the service has steadily increased its prices and expanded its content library, featuring titles from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic. This latest price adjustment comes on the same day that Toy Story 5 is set to debut on the service.
