Paizo, the publisher behind popular tabletop role-playing games like Pathfinder and Starfinder, has significantly expanded its partnership with DriveThruRPG, the leading online marketplace for digital tabletop content. This move will make Paizo's entire official catalog, including its latest releases, available for digital purchase on DriveThruRPG, alongside existing Pathfinder and Starfinder Infinite Marketplace titles.

This expanded collaboration comes at a critical time for Paizo. The company faced significant financial challenges after its former exclusive distributor, Diamond Comics, declared bankruptcy in January 2025. This bankruptcy left Paizo unable to access approximately $10 million worth of books intended for major retail channels, including Amazon and Barnes & Noble. The publisher also incurred a loss of nearly $2 million in 2025 and, as a result, laid off 12 employees in June to reduce operating costs. Consequently, Paizo scaled back its distribution of free PDFs and its investments in organized play products and virtual tabletop support.

In response to these disruptions, Paizo launched a new website in November to facilitate direct sales of physical and digital products to consumers. The enhanced partnership with DriveThruRPG represents another strategic effort to bolster sales and reach a wider audience. Beyond digital offerings, DriveThruRPG will also begin selling Paizo's print titles in the coming months. The two companies are also working on allowing customers to sync their accounts to access PDFs across both platforms.

"Expanding our partnership with DriveThruRPG makes it easier for more players to discover and enjoy Pathfinder and Starfinder," said Paizo CEO Jim Butler. "We’re excited to bring decades of Paizo releases to the DriveThruRPG community, with even more options ahead."

This expanded digital and physical presence on DriveThruRPG is expected to help Paizo recover from the financial impact of its previous distributor's collapse and continue supporting its dedicated player base with new role-playing game content.
