IO Interactive has announced that the Nintendo Switch 2 version of 007 First Light will launch on March 18, 2027. This delayed release will also offer a unique pre-order bonus: the GoldenEye Suit, featuring the iconic suit and oversized tie worn by Pierce Brosnan in the 1995 film GoldenEye. This particular cosmetic is exclusive to the Switch 2 version, with no other platforms set to receive it.
The special tie is a nod to the franchise's historical ties with Nintendo, particularly the beloved 1997 Nintendo 64 title GoldenEye 007. This connection may explain the exclusivity of the bonus content for the Switch 2 release.
007 First Light has achieved significant critical and commercial success since its initial launch, selling over 4 million copies and receiving strong reviews. The Switch 2 version was originally slated to release alongside other platforms in May 2026 but experienced multiple delays. IO Interactive cited a combination of factors for the postponements.
While IO Interactive is currently working on a new fantasy game and faced recent layoffs after Xbox rescinded funding for a project, the company has not officially announced a sequel to 007 First Light, despite fan anticipation.
