007 First Light Switch 2 Version to Include Unique, Oversized Tie

IO Interactive has announced that the Nintendo Switch 2 version of its hit title 007 First Light, slated for release on March 18, 2027, will feature an exclusive pre-order bonus. Players who reserve the game for the Switch 2 will receive the "GoldenEye Suit," which includes a replica of the suit and tie worn by Pierce Brosnan in the 1995 film GoldenEye. This specific suit is notable for its oversized tie, a fashion choice characteristic of the era.

The special inclusion for the Switch 2 version may be tied to the game's historical connection with Nintendo platforms. The original GoldenEye 007 released on the Nintendo 64 in 1997 and remains one of the console's most iconic titles.

007 First Light has achieved significant commercial success, selling over 4 million copies globally prior to the Switch 2 release. The port was originally intended to launch in May 2026 alongside other versions but faced multiple delays. IO Interactive cited a combination of factors for these setbacks.

In addition to the upcoming Switch 2 release, IO Interactive is reportedly working on a new fantasy game. However, the studio recently underwent staff layoffs following the withdrawal of funding from Xbox. Despite fan anticipation for a sequel to 007 First Light, no official announcements regarding such a project have been made.
