Agent 64: Spies Never Die, an indie title that pays homage to the beloved Nintendo 64 game GoldenEye, is set to launch on August 11. The game, developed by Replicant D6, was initially showcased in 2022 and had planned an early access release later that year, but this did not materialize.
Developer Replicant D6 announced the final release date in a recent Steam update, stating that "Everything is almost ready and set." The game's development has spanned over five years. Initially, Agent 64 did not feature multiplayer, a key component of GoldenEye's original appeal. However, plans for split-screen multiplayer were revealed a year after its initial showing, with online multiplayer announced for 2025. Despite these additions, the developer has emphasized that "singleplayer remains the main focus of the game."
A free demo for Agent 64: Spies Never Die remains available on Steam. This demo includes the first two missions of the game, offering players a chance to experience its gameplay. The demo was originally slated for removal earlier this month but has been extended until August 9, just two days before the game's full release.
