Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced has achieved a significant sales milestone, selling over three million units across all platforms within its first week of release. Ubisoft confirmed the figure via the official Assassin's Creed social media channels, expressing gratitude to players for their support.
Following a strong opening week that saw the game sell two million units, the remake has continued to gain momentum. Before its launch, Black Flag Resynced was predicted to surpass Assassin's Creed Shadows in sales on Steam, a prediction that proved accurate. On July 9, the game recorded two million units sold across all platforms and achieved a peak concurrent player count of 104,756 on Steam alone.
In addition to the sales announcement, Ubisoft confirmed that a New Game Plus mode is currently in development. This mode was previously hinted at by the game's director in a recent interview, who described it as a natural addition to the gameplay experience.
The game's launch was not without its challenges. Players noted a significant number of microtransactions and cosmetic items available on day one, which led to some criticism and a period of review bombing on Steam. The game also experienced a brief period of unplayability on PC due to an outage with Ubisoft Connect, despite being advertised as playable offline.
Looking ahead, reports suggest that Ubisoft may be planning a "Resynced" version of the original Assassin's Creed. While this has not been officially announced, a potential late 2027 release could coincide with the series' 20th anniversary.
