Mattel and Atari are set to release the Barbie Rewind Deluxe Edition for Nintendo Switch on November 12. This special edition offers players a collection of 16 retro Barbie video games, spanning titles released between 1991 and 2007, alongside an exclusive collectible doll. The Deluxe Edition is priced at $60, with a standard edition available for $30.
The Deluxe Edition includes a physical copy of the game for Nintendo Switch, a wall poster, and a unique Barbie Rewind doll. This doll, limited to an edition of 20,000, features Barbie in a casual outfit of blue jeans, an Atari t-shirt, and a streak of pink in her hair, presented in a numbered collector's box. The standard edition, which does not include the doll, will be available for both Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5. Digital versions of Barbie Rewind will also be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
While Atari has not revealed the full list of included games, 11 titles have been identified from the game's trailer. Among them are Barbie (1991), Barbie: Game Girl (1992), Barbie: Super Model (1993), Barbie: Vacation Adventure (1994), Barbie: Race & Ride (1999), Barbie Super Sports (1999), Barbie Pet Rescue (2001), Barbie: Groovy Games (2002), Secret Agent Barbie: Royal Jewels Mission (2002), Barbie Horse Adventures Blue Ribbon Race (2003), and The Barbie Diaries: High School Mystery (2006). A notable inclusion is Barbie: Vacation Adventure, originally planned for Sega Genesis and Super NES in 1994 but never released until now.
Barbie Rewind incorporates a game-within-a-game structure. As players engage with the retro Barbie titles, they can receive quests from Barbie herself. Completing these quests unlocks over 250 in-game decorative items for Barbie's Dreamhouse, many inspired by past Barbie playsets. The remaining five unannounced games in the collection could potentially include fan-favorite titles, though specific details remain unconfirmed.
