Blood Dungeon, the forthcoming game from Nidhogg developer Messhof, is set to launch on August 25. The title merges 2D platforming with the "bullet heaven" auto-attacking mechanics that have gained popularity with games like Vampire Survivors.
First unveiled during Day of the Devs 2026, Blood Dungeon tasks players with navigating platforming dungeons. Gameplay involves jumping and climbing while characters automatically engage over 100 enemy types with gunfire. Players can defeat these enemies using a variety of dozens of weapons, which can be enhanced with unlockable upgrades. The game features nine distinct playable characters, each with unique traits and starting weapons, and six different survival arenas.
Blood Dungeon will also include online leaderboards and daily dungeons for players to challenge. The game is slated for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
