Chucklefish's Magical Life Sim "Witchbrook" Gets January 2027 Release Date

The long-anticipated life simulation game Witchbrook, often described as "Stardew Valley meets Harry Potter," has officially received a release date. Developer Chucklefish announced during the Nintendo Indie World Showcase that the game will be available on January 28, 2027.

While this represents a slight delay from its previously stated 2026 window, the new date places the launch just three months away. Witchbrook features a charming isometric pixel art style and promises a wealth of gameplay systems, drawing comparisons to other life-sims like Fields of Mistria that blend familiar mechanics with unique themes. It offers a magical alternative for fans of the cozy genre.

What to Expect in Witchbrook

The core premise of Witchbrook places players in the magical town of Mossport, where they begin their journey by attending Witchbrook College. Players will engage in a variety of activities beyond attending classes, including running a business, flying on a broomstick, customizing their character and home, foraging, and birdwatching. The game is also set to feature up to four-player cooperative multiplayer, allowing friends to embark on magical adventures together.

Witchbrook is scheduled to launch on January 28, 2027, for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
