Chucklefish has announced a January 28 release date for its cozy magical simulation game, Witchbrook. The announcement came during a Nintendo Indie World showcase, though the game is confirmed to be launching on all major platforms, including PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC.
Witchbrook, which blends pixel art visuals with a focus on magical gameplay systems, allows players to attend a witch college to learn spells. Beyond academics, the game encourages players to build a life in the surrounding town by making friends, taking on jobs, and decorating their homes. The concept was first revealed nearly ten years ago in 2017, drawing comparisons to a "Stardew Valley meets Harry Potter" experience.
Last year, the game was anticipated to launch sometime in 2026. While delays have occurred, the confirmed January 28 release date brings the long-awaited title closer to players. Witchbrook is developed by Chucklefish, a studio known for publishing the popular farming simulator Stardew Valley and developing the Wargroove series.
