Endless Legend 2 Leaves Early Access September 17 with New Factions

Amplitude Studios has announced that Endless Legend 2 will officially launch out of early access on September 17. The 1.0 release will bring with it a host of new content, including a new major faction, a new minor faction, and the introduction of rogue factions.

The Sandshapers will be the final major faction to be added to the game. Described as the oldest civilization on the planet of Saiadha, their aim is to transform the world's damp environment into a dry desert. They will join the game's existing major factions in the full release.

In addition to the Sandshapers, players will encounter the Mangrove of Harmony, a new minor faction. This group, designed in conjunction with the community, features its own hero, questline, and unique units and population types. The notes suggest these are the "starfish" faction.

Endless Legend 2's 1.0 launch will also debut rogue factions, which are splinter groups derived from existing major factions. These rogue factions will possess their own distinct quests, stories, and mechanics. At launch, two rogue factions will be available: the Order of Zelevas, a conquest-focused offshoot of the Kin of Sheredyn, and The Severed Claw, a Necrophage splinter group capable of enslaving other factions.

When Endless Legend 2 first entered early access last year, it was praised for its strong 4X foundations, though its combat was noted as an area for improvement. The developers have spent the past year refining the game, and the full release is expected to showcase these enhancements.
