Fields of Mistria 1.0 Launches August 5 With New Romance, Family, and Giant Chicken Content

Fields of Mistria, the farming and life-simulation RPG from independent developer NPC Studio, is set to launch its full 1.0 version on Steam on August 5. The game, which has been in early access for two years, boasts an "Overwhelmingly Positive" rating on Steam from over 21,000 reviews and is priced at $13.99, a figure that will not increase with the full release. Currently available on PC and Steam Deck compatible, the developers have indicated that future ports to other platforms are planned.

The 1.0 update introduces a host of new features designed to deepen the player experience. Relationship milestones have been expanded, with NPC heart level caps raised from 8 to 10, unlocking new proposals, wedding events, and the possibility of starting families with romanceable characters. Two new NPCs will join the town's Saturday Market: Stillwell, a fortune teller, and Zorel, a music vendor.

The game's Town Repair storyline, centered on the reconstruction of Mistria after an earthquake, will reach its conclusion in version 1.0. The Renown Level, which measures the progress of Mistria's rebuild, will be increased to 100. Players can also expect a refreshed Request Board with new projects and fetch quests, along with new rewards such as items for collection, museum sets, new skill perks, furniture, decorations, cosmetics, and mount options, including a gigantic rideable chicken. A comprehensive Steam Achievements system will be implemented, with retroactive progress for early access accomplishments. The update also includes beta localization options for French, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Spanish, and Traditional/Simplified Chinese.

Existing save files from the early access period will transfer to version 1.0, allowing players to continue their progress. However, players wishing to start fresh with all the new features from the outset are also welcome to do so.

Community excitement for the 1.0 launch largely centers on the enhanced romance and family-building mechanics, as well as the anticipation surrounding the Steam Achievements system. Players have expressed particular interest in the logistics of intergenerational gameplay and how the game will accommodate childfree players. While some desired features, such as lighthouse repairs and more in-game event content, remain unconfirmed for 1.0, the developer has stated that further updates and content drops are planned post-launch, keeping the community engaged with the evolving world of Mistria.
