Fields of Mistria Leaves Early Access with Rideable Chickens and Expanded Romance Options

NPC Studio's farm life fantasy RPG, Fields of Mistria, has concluded its early access phase with the full 1.0 release. This significant update brings a variety of enhancements, including the notable addition of a large rideable chicken mount that players can use to traverse the town of Mistria.

The 1.0 launch addresses previously incomplete quests, such as 'The Town Repair' and 'The Museum,' making them fully playable. Two new quests, 'Saturday Market Plaza' and 'Repair the Bell Tower,' have also been added. Alongside these additions, the player's Town Renown Cap has been increased to 100, and the NPC Heart Level Cap has been raised to 10.

Given the game's focus on romantic relationships, the update incorporates extensive new content for players pursuing in-game partnerships. This includes 10 new Heart Proposal events, wedding events, marriage mechanics, and the ability to have children. For existing players, newly implemented Steam Achievements will be applied retroactively, though players opting for a fresh start can choose to disable this feature.

Fields of Mistria now supports seven new languages through beta localization: Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), French, Japanese, Korean, Russian, and Spanish. While all core features and content are accessible across these languages, some text may still be incomplete and temporarily appear in English, with further localization improvements planned.

New gameplay features include the ability to customize farm and home music via Crystal Resonators and Song Crystals, and exterior house customization options unlocked after a full house upgrade. Seven new perks have been introduced across various skills like Cooking and Ranching. The 'Engagement Ring' item is now craftable, and 'NPC Special Items' can be obtained after reaching 10 Hearts with an NPC. Players can now customize wedding elements and initiate family planning discussions post-marriage.

Quality of life improvements encompass player character rotation in the customization menu and options to disable certain breakup-related dialogue when dating multiple NPCs. Visual enhancements include cloud shadows on sunny days and animated elements like Ryis’ Hawthorn tree and the Bathhouse water wheel. Several new furniture and cosmetic items have also been added, including various themed sets and wearable accessories.

The update also includes substantial bug fixes and performance optimizations, such as reduced VRAM usage and addressed startup crashes. Notable bug fixes include preventing players from walking on water, resolving pet location issues, and correcting quest and item display errors. Performance improvements have also been made, with a hotfix specifically addressing a startup crash related to the new language localizations.
