Halo: Campaign Evolved Goes Gold, Early Access Available for Premium Pre-Orders

Halo: Campaign Evolved, a new top-down remake of the original Halo game developed in Unreal Engine, has officially gone gold, signaling that development is complete and the game is ready for release. The announcement was made via official Halo social media channels on Monday. This signifies that players are one step closer to revisiting the title that launched the iconic Xbox first-person shooter franchise.

Players will have the opportunity to experience Halo: Campaign Evolved slightly before its official launch. The early access period is scheduled to commence on July 23, five days ahead of the game's general release on July 28. To participate in this early access, players must pre-order the premium edition of the game, which is priced at $69.99. This edition also includes exclusive armor skins and digital bonuses. Those who have already pre-ordered the standard edition can opt for a premium upgrade for an additional $20.

Halo: Campaign Evolved is set to launch on July 28 for PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X. While this remake does not feature the original's celebrated multiplayer component, it introduces new gameplay mechanics such as sprinting and vehicle boarding, alongside the use of the energy sword. Developer Halo Studios has also added "Operation: Meteorite," a new content pack comprising three original story missions. This release marks the first Xbox first-party title since Forza Horizon 6 earlier this year. The game's development is part of Xbox's strategy to invest further in its major franchises, following recent business adjustments that included job reductions and studio closures. Players can anticipate further Halo content in the future as part of this ongoing strategy.
