KPop Demon Hunters Arrives on 4K Blu-ray November 3

Netflix and The Criterion Collection are bringing the animated musical KPop Demon Hunters to physical media with a new 4K UHD release on November 3. The definitive edition will include Dolby Vision HDR on the 4K disc, alongside two additional Blu-rays containing the film and a wealth of special features.

The release boasts new cover art by Ami Thompson, depicting the film's main characters Rumi, Mira, and Zoey in action. The packaging evokes the mystical Honmoon barrier central to the film's narrative. The set also includes a feature-length animatic with an introduction from directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, a new making-of documentary, and two video essays by Taylor Ramos and Tony Zhou of Every Frame a Painting. Fans can also expect a trailer for the film, lyric videos for each song, English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing, and English descriptive audio.

Collectible physical extras include postcards with original illustrations by the film's artists and a written essay by critic Karen Han. The 4K + Blu-ray three-disc set is priced at $39.96, with a two-disc Blu-ray set available for $31.96 and a two-disc DVD set for $23.96. Pre-orders are currently open.

KPop Demon Hunters joins other Netflix titles in the Criterion Collection, such as Roma, The Irishman, The Power of the Dog, Marriage Story, and Frankenstein.
