Digital Sun has announced that Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault will officially launch out of PC Early Access on September 2. The game, which blends dungeon crawling with shop management, has been available in its early form since November.
The sequel adopts a 3D isometric perspective, a departure from the top-down pixel art of its 2018 predecessor. The core gameplay loop remains: players control adventurer Will, exploring dungeons at night to gather treasures and battle monsters, then selling their finds in their shop during the day.
The 1.0 release will introduce new weapons, armor, and a combat ability named Bomb Path, which causes enemies to explode after sustained damage. The shop will also be fully realized, offering expanded space, additional Bloblet slots, and new cosmetic options. The narrative of Moonlighter 2 will also reach its conclusion with this update.
Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault is slated for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, and PC. It will be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one. In anticipation of the launch, developer Digital Sun is offering the original Moonlighter for free on Steam until August 9.
