Fungus looter shooter Mycopunk has officially launched its 1.0 version, introducing new content and a limited-time discount for players. The online co-op game casts players as robot rejects battling alien mushroom creatures across various planets.
The 1.0 update adds a new playable character, the Mycologist, who wields abilities like Sporelift and Fungal Skewer, alongside a passive infection effect. A new mission type, 'Population Control,' challenges players to clear areas of high enemy density and confront Abominations. Additionally, a special mini-assignment tasks players with rescuing a sofa.
New weaponry includes the diffraction driver, an "ion scattergun that fires in a short-range cone," and the snowball grenade. Players can also explore X11-B, a new region on New Atlas' moonlet, which features difficult missions. The update also introduces cosmetic hats for player characters.
Beyond these additions, Mycopunk's 1.0 release brings other improvements such as sit emotes, an in-game achievement system called 'Fulfillments,' a reworked HUB, and a redesigned drop pod, along with numerous bug fixes and general enhancements. The game is currently available at a 50% discount.
